Possibilities of developing digital competencies within the scope of art lessons in basic education

The diploma thesis focuses on the possibilities of developing digital competencies within the scope of art in basic education. In the theoretical part, it focuses on the definition of terminology related to digital forms of art, names the basic principles of new media and focuses on new technologies or phenomena of the digital world, which have a significant influence on the current requirements for the acquisition of these specific competencies. In defining areas of digital competence, the text relies on conceptual models that seek to define a coherent language that unifies terms related to different digital literacies. In the conclusion of the theoretical part, the thesis maps the strategy of the educational policy of the Czech Republic in relation to the implementation of these models in curriculum documents. The resulting outcome is a confrontation of the observed issues with the field of art education and its theoretical starting points. The practical part of the work presents a conceptual analysis of the proposed art education lessons aimed at the systematic development of pupils' digital competences. Advantages and disadvantages of educating pupils with mental disabilities in independently established classes at elementary school

This thesis Advantages and disadvantages of educating pupils with intellectual disabilities in independently established classes at elementary school deals with the issue of classes established according to Section 16, paragraph 9 of the School Act at elementary schools, specifically their advantages and disadvantages from the perspective of special education. The thesis is divided into two main parts: the theoretical part and the part of the own research investigation. The theoretical part is dedicated to individuals with intellectual disabilities, education of pupils with intellectual disabilities, and the collaboration between the school and the family of pupils with intellectual disabilities. The own research was conducted through qualitative investigation in the form of semi- structured interviews with twelve respondents. The part of the own research focuses on methodology, presentation of research data, main findings, discussion and recommendations for practice. Pupils' perception of maps

The diploma thesis focuses on pupils' map perception and its main objective is to characterize how sixth-grade pupils perceive visuals that resemble maps in their appearance or characteristics, or are defined as maps according to commonly used definitions. The theoretical part of the thesis explains in detail the concept of maps in foreign and Czech literature, but also in geography textbooks for the sixth grade of elementary schools. An important part of the theoretical part is also the description of mental map schemata, which were presented in detail by the American geographer A. MacEachren in his book How Maps Work. A total of 22 respondents from three elementary schools participated in the research. The selected pupils took part in approximately fifteen-minute interviews, in which they first described what they think a map is, and then decided whether the presented visuals were maps or not, providing their reasoning for their decisions. A total of 15 visuals were presented, which were selected based on the previous analysis of the literature. The results of the research showed that the used geography textbook and the teaching style of the teacher influence how pupils perceive maps. The topic of the diploma thesis is the application of the project method in teaching civic education at the second stage of elementary school. The diploma thesis is divided into two main parts, a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part will be devoted mainly to knowledge about the project method, which has been very popular and positively evaluated lately. The theoretical part is followed by the practical part, in which five projects are proposed that could be implemented in civics lessons. The aim of this diploma thesis is to show the implementation of the project method in the teaching of civic education at the second stage of elementary schools on individual proposals of teaching units and thus inspire civics teachers to do similar projects.
Beekeeping in the school practice

This thesis deals with the topic of beekeeping and its usage in education. The aim of the thesis was to create a study plan for lower-secondary school students to show them beekeeping and enlighten them about the importance of the environment. This educational plan can be used by teachers, as well as by leaders of hobby groups. The basic knowledge about beekeeping and its role in the educational process are described in the literary review. This part of the thesis mainly focuses on the bee communities, products, illnesses, and feeding. The second part of the thesis focuses on the plan itself, which is based on Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education and its subpart 'People and nature'. It consists of methodological instructions, presentations, and worksheets connected with the plan. It also includes a partial practical verification.

of the diploma thesis The diploma thesis focuses on the analysis of historical development of system of education in a particular region in the context of historical influences. The thesis is formally divided into two parts. The first is descriptive and deals with the process of formation of elementary schools from their historical origins untill the first half of 19th century. Particular attention is devoted to essential education reforms and to socio- economical status of teachers. The second part of the thesis focuses on the history of local schools in Závratec and its surroundigs between 1820 and 1918. With the application of microanalytical method, there is a description of particular social situations and historical contexts of the establishment and development of one of the elementary schools.

Active working in terms of movement as one of the factors influencing a foreign language learning

The Master Thesis is focused on summarizing of theoretical pieces of knowledge in the process of learning and teaching in an elementary school (the second stage according to Czech educational system). The thesis is also concerned about the role of locomotion in this process as well as the usage of movement activities in a foreign language teaching process. Theoretical resources were verified by the research investigation and a pedagogical experiment which proved a positive influence of a motion to the effectiveness of teaching in a particular research group. In compliance with the gathered information there was a file of various activities created, which offers methodical and didactic description of those activities and game. These are suitable for the usage of movement activities during the teaching of German language on the elementary schools. This activity file should inspire all German language teachers.
Elementary school pupils' misconceptions related to the thematic map use

The thesis deals with identification and analysis of misconceptions that are formed when the ninth grade pupils work with thematic maps. It is divided into two main parts. The first part, which is theoretical, informs the readers about the aims of the thesis and defines the fundamental terms on the basis of the literature review. The misconceptions in thematic cartography are described in detail as well as the methodology of the research. The phenomenographic interview was used as a method for collecting qualitative data in order to fulfil the established aim. The research was realized in five schools situated in Ústecký region, in Děčín district, with twenty pupils. More specifically, the research aim was to find out whether there exists, and if so, then what is the impact of pupils' orientation in elementary geographic knowledge, used cartographic method and correctness of thematic map on pupils' conceptions. The master thesis submits basic philosophy and vision of music education upon the creation of a new primary school with extended focus of musical education. The thesis unifies the knowledge about development of musical education in Czech lands from medieval era to present and states the development of primary schools with extended focus of musical education. The thesis also describes the creation of these institutions on work of Ladislav Daniel and the Olomouc experiment, its progression and future reflections on conception of education on primary school with extended focus of musical education, contemplates the creation of guidelines for extended musical education in the Czech educational system. The thesis also describes important trendsetters in this issue, such as Ladislav Daniel, Alena Tichá, Jan Prchal and Pavel Jurkovič. A different part states the creation of school as an educational institution and describes basic characteristics of this institution.
